The blues was first sung by men at leisure, and was called the folk blues.
Country singers joined the fl-butt and the Fast Western pianist migration, and brought their style to Chicago, Detroit, and New York, where the classic blues singers united with the New Orleans and Fast Western musicians, and introduced their blues style in clubs, theaters, and dance halls.
The market for the recorded blues was almost entirely fl during the 1920s and 1930s, and the records became known as "race records." Record companies advertised exclusively to fls and only fl stores sold the records.

 OLDTIME COUNTRY AND BLUES MUSIC
BLUES: blues music was around long before the ‘20s and owed about 90% to fl (African) cultures and 10% to the folksongs of poor whites.
A look at Jerry Lee Lewis, a would be blues and oldtime country singer who had a few huge hits in the rock ‘n’ roll era and who later emerged as a country hitmaker, reveals the attitude of the producers of the times.
Very few true blues single were released on Lewis when he was at Sun or indeed later on.Also, the amount of true blues that were originally released in Lewis' 700 song repertoire can be counted on 10 fingers - while those that had to be held back for decades are very numerous.

Olympus MIC-D: Butterfly Wing Scale Gallery - Western Blue
Female western blue butterflies lay their eggs on tropical plants including acacias, aspen trees, mahogany beans, and craib trees, and newborn caterpillars forage for leaves on the plants on which they were born.
Although acacias are famous for their co-evolved communities of guardian ants, which prevent most kinds of herbivory, the adaptation appears to have little impact on the hardy western blue caterpillars.
Due to their incredible speed, western blue butterflies are nearly impossible to catch in flight and, historically, butterfly hunters had to patiently wait for individuals to rest or sun themselves, which made the elusive flying jewels highly valuable as specimens.

Eventually, at the end of 1948, a range of standard liveries was fixed: light blue for the highest powered express passenger locomotives; a darker green (actually Brunswick green, an old GWR colour) for other express engines and fl for everything else including the few diesel and electric locos.
That lamenting GWR ghost quickly got its revenge; in 1951 it was decided that blue didn't wear well and it was abandoned in favour of Brunswick green which was extended to all express passenger locomotives, including the 'Kings'.
