Westmoreland is the westernmost parish in Jamaica, located on the south side of the island.
It is situated to the south of Hanover, the southwest of Saint James, and the northwest of Saint Elizabeth, in the county of Cornwall.
Westmoreland's population of 141,000 is made up of a large percentage of Indians, who are the descendants of Indentured Laborers who came to Jamaica from India to work after slavery.

Owen Sinclair, custos of Westmoreland, congratulated the JPs on their appointment and challenged them to be forthright in conducting of their duties and to shun corruption.

Shakes was also at a loss in trying to ascertain a possible motive for the vicious attack on her friend, which has left her traumatised and the community in shock.
The deceased is the 28th person to be killed in the parish of Westmoreland since the start of this year.

Each year, the parish that earns the most points in agricultural competitions as well for the variety and quality of produce on display in their respective pavilions, is declared overall champion.
Although, Westmoreland excelled in competitions such as horticulture, project work display and craft, they were ranked seventh for their pavilion's produce display.

The demonstration had included a crop and a livestock farm complete with a bio-digester to transform the refuse from livestock animals into methane (cooking gas) while the nitrogen would be used to manure the fruits and vegetables cultivated on the farm.

Lutheran Ministries In Jamaica, the name chosen for incorporation, began formal worship again under the leadership of Missionary Erhart Bauer on Sunday February 5, 1995, at the Lutheran Ministries in Jamaica Center located at 1 Morecambe Avenue, Kingston 8.
The Lutheran Ministries in Jamaica incorporation process was initiated; an Advisory Council was established, consisting of five Jamaicans; and the ministry experienced a steady participation of approximately 25 Kingston residents.
Last summer the government of Jamaica agreed to a 25 year lease for the property, and the lease was signed by the government and Lutheran Ministries in July 2002.

There were several sites looked at, but I will address only one in these notes; the others require a longer visit, and we hope to attend to those in the future.
We have not looked there for a cave called One Day, but we do know that in Copse Mountain (the name given for the district in the JCC log), Westmoreland, there is a cave locally called One Day.
We cannot believe that there would be such a coincidence that there would be two One Day caves, one in Copse, and one in Copse Mountain, so we must assume that the Jamaica Underground listing is wrong, and the cave we visited this day, in Westmoreland, is the one and only One Day Cave.
