The main reason for this is that many of the New Brunswick Harrises arrived after 1800, and most of my research in Maritime Canada has been in the "Planter" and "Loyalist" periods before 1800.
Since my wife is a Harris - a New Hampshire-Massachusetts one - I better rephrase that: HARRIS is not one of the principal surnames I have been researching in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

he people of Sackville, New Brunswick were shocked in 1832 when William Fawcett was shot through the kitchen window while attending to his evening devotions.
Fawcett as "a man of most amiable character, mild, inoffensive and retiring in his manners; he probably never wilfully offended any person; and has died universally regretted by all who knew him." At the Coroner's Inquest the residents were overwhelmed when they heard the evidence and discovered who was being charged with the crime.
The official launching of the book will take place at the Yorkshire 2000 celebration in Sackville, New Brunswick, August 3 to 10.
