Westway to the World, a documentary on the rise and fall of The Clash by renowned part of the British punk scene Don Letts, makes its way to DVD in what is described as a “director’s cut” — so presumably it’s longer than the original version, or something.
The good news is that Westway to the World is presented in a ratio of 1.78:1, the bad is that for some reason it has not been 16:9 enhanced.
The Clash was, and always will be, an important part of rock history, and this is a fitting summation of much that they gave to the world through their passion and artistry.

"Westway" is definitely not targeted at a newcomer to the band; I don't think (manager) Bernie Rhodes' name is ever spoken in full; it's always Bernie this and Bernie that.
I don't think that's much of a criticism, given the Clash's status in the annals of punk rock, and even someone without a lot of previous knowledge of the band should good a sense of what the excitement was all about, even if some of the names are a little obscure.
