Many of the same family names occur in all the grants, and the first proprietors' meetings for the six towns were held in and around Salisbury, Connecticut.
However, the Vermont town was named before the settlers came, so Thompson's does not seem to be a very reasonable explanation.
It seems much more probable that either the grantees or Benning Wentworth had some ties with Weybridge, Surrey, England, and that the name had meaning for them, though they left no record of it.

In April, ACFA mutual aid was withdrawn because the Selectmen would not recognize the fire department and refused to sign the agreement.
Finally in 1966, after two fires where the Weybridge Fire Dept. was responsible for saving a great deal of property, they were recognized as an 'auxiliary', supplementing the contracted services of the Middlebury Fire Dept. In April 1966, the ACFA mutual aid agreement was finally signed by the Town Selectmen.

Weybridge Road, as described in the entry on Somerset Road, above, was originally part of Blake Road East, evolving from main pathway into the Blake Estate from Washington Street.
There is also a Weybridge, England, close to London, but I have not found a connection to the Blake family.
Weybridge Lane, which runs off of Weybridge Road with an offshoot connecting it to the end of Hancock Road, was originally called Blake Circle.

It was an early spring afternoon sometime in l968, I was setting out on the front lawn of my house on the Morgan Horse Farm Road (Weybridge Vermont), some polychromed steel sculptures which I had just finished, when a blue VW MicroBus with California plates stopped on the road.
Then he got marble from the Vermont Marble Company, which was not yet a Swiss based industrial agglomerate grinding marble into fine powder as a filler for plastics.
The Vermont Marble Company was agreeable and gave us two truckloads of pieces of irregular size, which is what a sculptors wants rather than sawed rectangular blocks.

Charles Linsley, son of judge Joel Linsley, was born in Cornwall, Vermont, August 29, 1795.
He served in the Vermont House of Representatives for Rutland County in 1858 and held federal appointments as District Attorney, 1845-1849, during the administration of President Polk, and as collector of Customs, 1860-1861, during the administration of President Buchanan.
