Starring (and I say that loosely) Sanaa Lathan (as ice climber extraordinaire Alexa Woods) and Lance Henriksen (as Weyland Corporation founder, Charles Bishop Weyland), Alien vs Predator is a travesty.
To be more exact, an exploratory corporation - Weyland Corporation (anyone appreciate the foreshadowing here?) - has discovered a vast underground temple beneath the ice's surface of Antarctica that has recently "powered up" for reasons unknown.
Weyland and friends figure out that they're just bait, cattle, no less caught in the crossfire between two alien races bent on killing each other.

 Bishop (android)
Bishop 341-B is a fictional character from the Alien series of films, an android created by the Weyland-Yutani corporation and played by Lance Henriksen.
The android was modelled after his creator, Weyland-Yutani robotics engineer Michael Bishop who is the "Bishop II" seen in Alien 3, as confirmed in both the Alien 3 novelization and 2003 DVD commentary for Alien Quadrilogy by Lance Henriksen.
However, the more recent spin-off film, Alien vs. Predator has ignored this and established its own canon, which implies the Bishop androids were modelled after Charles Bishop Weyland, and therefore the "real" Bishop is another android rather than a human.

Hell, in a nod to appeasing irate fanboys everywhere, you even had Bishop (um, Lance Henrikson) cast in the film (as billionaire Charles Weyland) and afterwards he was singing your praises all over the place, talking about what an awesome movie AVP was going to be.
Problem is, this unknown temple deep beneath the ice is actually an ancient Predator hunting ground where young Predators go to test themselves against, you got it, Aliens, and the humans have unwittingly awoken a Queen within the temple.
Then there are the weird logic/continuity errors (some Predator weapons melt from the Aliens’ acid blood, some don’t) and the fact that having Aliens on Earth betrays the integrity of the Alien series (as AVP takes place before Alien, chronologically).
