Where did all of these Christian holidays come from?
Because it is the most important holiday of the year, it is sometimes called 'THE Great Sabbat.' It is an ironic fact that the newer, self-created Covens tend to use the older name of the holiday, Samhain, which they have discovered through modern research.
Of course, the Christian version of the holiday spread to many countries no faster than Christianity itself, which means that 'Christmas' wasn't celebrated in Ireland until the late fifth century; in England, Switzerland, and Austria until the seventh; in Germany until the eighth; and in the Slavic lands until the ninth and tenth.
Brigit's holiday was chiefly marked by the kindling of sacred fires, since she symbolized the fire of birth and healing, the fire of the forge, and the fire of poetic inspiration.

What I did on my Holidays
To have a holiday on the canals is romantic and one steps back in time to a world where the pace of life is slower when there was time just to sit and think and watch the world go by.
I did think that it was a little off but never mind: we had a wonderful time in British Columbia, everyone was so friendly and the landscape is out of this world.
We did find our way back eventually though otherwise this note would be floating to you in a bottle.

Suicide is not linked to holidays, at least not in Minnesota's Olmsted County, where the Mayo Clinic is located, according to Mayo researchers.
However, their work, concluded in 1985, did affirm other studies showing that suicides are most numerous early in the week and least common on weekends.
The studies conclude that if holiday depression does descend every December, its effects are too minor or it involves too few people to show up in the official statistics.

Last year the shofar that was ringing in our ears was the wail of sirens and emergency vehicles; it was the screams of thousands being burnt and crushed.

Our job is only to accept this decision of God with love." We should live with the trust that the Almighty has a plan, and that everything that happens is ultimately for the good.

Oracle Calendar holidays : Did you know? : Winter 2004 : University of Vermont
The "UVM Holiday" designation serves simply as a reminder to avoid proposing meetings on those days (and, for most of us, not to come to work!).
But it does not block time on our agendas; it's just as easy to invite people to meetings on those days as any other days, including weekends.
Someone who is planning to be away on days the University is open for business (for cultural holidays, vacation, and so on) should consider blocking that time on his or her agenda.

Our room sported true youth hostel elan - single beds like boards, carpet that would cut your feet (I exaggerate) and grains of glass on the bathroom floor that really did cut your feet (I don't exaggerate).
Our hotel, too, was described as 'comfortable' by our guide (which was also out of date despite only coming out 7 months ago) and we had to complain bitterly to get moved out of a twin bedroom with wooden plank single beds that were bolted to the floor.
Our carpets really did cut our feet and the glass on the bathroom floor may well have done the same had the bathroom not been so small as to force the user to leave their feet outside the door as (s)he went about business.

WWDOOH is their second album, made when Sandy Denny had just replaced Judy Dyble on lead vocals, which she shared with Ian Matthews (another long-time favourite artist).
WWDOOH finishes with "Meet On The Ledge", an extraordinarily moving yet simple song which Fairport still have in their set today, and a brief acoustic guitar solo piece that on its own justifies Simon Nicol's existence on the planet.

Coach Sappho: Prospero Ano Y Felicidad...
Take some time and tell others what you did during the holidays and how it went for you.
Now that most of the holidays are over/winding down, this is a great time to celebrate - really - to look back on 2004, on what you accomplished and to take the time to pat yourself on the back for keeping it together in 2004 as well as feeling a sense of gratitude.
Even if you're glad or relieved that 2004 has ended, it is still possible (and important) to unearth the value of what 2004 "added" to your life, including elements that were "taken away" or lost.

Realizing that the children are outgrowing the nest Eric takes his family for a caravan (trailer park) holiday in Skegness, imagining -- correctly -- that it will be the last opportunity for them to escape together, as a family.
The Tralee Carapark and Holiday Centre may sound vaguely inviting, but it is not the ideal place for a getaway.
His oversexed wife Kathleen (whose lifelong dream, involving a pair of dwarves, is fulfilled in Skegness), devout daughter Sally (complete with stigmata and virgin conception), and civilization-rejecting son Max (who hunts down most of the wildlife in the neighborhood) are seen as a trial, but one the father gladly endures.
