  Women Who Want Domesticity
So, in what seems to be a corrective rebound, young women, even those whose careers are in full swing, plan on relinquishing some or all of their professional goals in order to raise children they have not yet conceived.
Because of expectations placed on young women by their parents, the men in their lives, and even other women, many will admit their desire to stay home and raise a family only to the most trustworthy of friends and of those, only to the ones they suspect feel the same way.
Women's biology is devalued even though it is sacred." When a young woman realizes that limited maternity leave and more covert workplace attitudes force mothers into diminished professional roles, suddenly her slew of options boils down to two.

Many Infertile Women Want to Choose Baby's Gender
Jain explained that experts have suspected that most people want to use sex-selection technology in order to balance their families -- if they have 3 boys for instance, they want to make sure the next child is a girl.
Women indicated if they would use the techniques if they were free, and if so, which gender they would prefer.
Although childless women with no children preferred boys or girls equally, women were more likely to want a girl if they were older, not religious, willing to pay for sex-selection procedures, and had only sons.

Instead of chastising men for being obsessed with sex with multiple women, try for once telling the women to stop giving it out so much to these men, and be satisfied with their "own" husband.

The biggest difference between men and women's attitudes is around the role of government and you do find women more supportive of the role of government than men and more likely to believe that someone in their family may need a safety net program.

What Women Want (2000): Mel Gibson, Helen Hunt, Marisa Tomei, Mark Feuerstein - PopMatters Film Review
Basically, all the women in his life hate him, but Nick is completely clueless in his "man's man" sort of way, until a fateful accident involving a hair dryer and a bathtub zaps him into a state where he can hear what women think.
The title actually represents the biggest problem I have with the movie -- the assumption, in answer to Freud's famous question, that all women want the same things from life, from love, and from relationships -- to be heard and respected.
The assumption that listening, kindness, and respect are the same things to all women and that real men can not display these attributes without the help of some freak accident is as ludicrous as it is annoying.

Roughly 12 percent more women than men support a diplomatic solution, disapprove of military action without the United Nations and our allies, and don't think the impending war is worth substantial American casualties.
Whatever the reason, women are once again demonstrating their traditional unwillingness to use military force.
American women, for example, launched an international peace movement in their attempt to prevent World War I. Women, moreover, do not suffer from the dreaded "wimp factor." If we support peace, we don't have to defend our womanhood.

Apparently, the next generation of women attending elite educational institutions are very open to assuming their "traditional gender roles" by leaving the workforce and becoming full-time mothers.
Two potentially provocative lessons: (1) I would argue that women are still not making their "choice" to pursue "traditional gender roles" against the background of a full panoply of options, since only a few respondents seem to appreciate that men can make sacrifices for family too.
I suppose it is perfectly consistent to say that women should be able to do whatever they want professionally and personally--and our role as a society is not to denigrate any choice they make and make the paths to professional fulfillment open to anyone who wants to take advantage of them.
