I guess I don't consider you a Whedonverse alum unless you were on a Joss Whedon show.
One thing I like about the Whedonverse actors and actresses in general is that most of them aren't incredibly superficial or fake looking.
I think we'll go with Whedonverse in this case pertaining to be a cast or crew member of a Joss project.

Save ANGEL Campaign Forum -> Birthday Surprise for Alyson Hannigan
At the beginnig of the Project, fans were asked to nominate producers, writers and actors from the shows to receive a donation in their honor to their hometown library.
Whedonverse fans know her best from her role as Willow Rosenberg in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Since our timing of the donation to Alyson Hannigan's hometown library just happened to coincide with her birthday, the organizer of the Whedonverse Multimedia Project ordered a bouquet of flowers to notify her of the generous donation by fans to the Atlanta-Fulton County Public Library.

While the WB has left the door open for more potential Angel on the network, perhaps in the form of made-for-TV movies, one has to expect that prospect to be a longshot, at best.
Angel, like Buffy and Firefly before it, was an expensive show to make, and it seems that the Whedonverse's sizable army of loyal fans simply aren't enough to justify the cost of continuing to produce new episodes for a major network.
While it is unlikely that they will, if you were ever a Joss Whedon fan, please sign it, just to let him know we are in his corner, and will be anxiously awaiting his next project.

A coat that Buffy pretty much bullied Spike into resume wearing with her publicly humiliating "Only the killer was useful" speech in "Get it Done" seems to be judged as more unforgivable than Angel seeking Darla out in Shanghai or leaving people with a demon in the Hyperion.
I understand that the Whedonverse does not need two identical characters.

There were also those who worried that the intrusion of another vampire with a soul might distract from the focus on Angel himself.
And then there were those who thought that the development of Spike as a character had been the bought at the expense of distorting some of the basic concepts of the Whedonverse, in particular its distinction between the souled an unsouled.
And often they complained that others were too inflexible and unimaginative in their understanding of the Whedonverse’s approach to souls.
