Miller, a white supremacist and US Army Veteran, was the founder (in 1980) of the KKK-affiliated, paramilitary White People's Party, a Christian Identity-affiliated organisation.

One of Miller's last acts before the collapse of the White Patriot Party was being caught purchasing machine guns and rockets from a Fayetteville, NC military base, which lead to criminal charges that caused him to turn federal informer.
