Eighth graders in the small town of Whitwell, Tennessee, nestled in a little rural valley west of the Smoky Mountains, are creating a monument to commemorate Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
The inspiration for the project came when Whitwell's Associate Principal was attending a teacher-training course in Chatanooga in the summer of 1998.
