Then there is little question that life supporting means may be removed and "nature allowed to take its course." But when the person concerned is conscious and states that he or she does not wish to live an impaired life with mechanical support systems, what judgment should be made?
Life, health, all temporary activities are subordinated to spiritual ends.
That is why a respirator may be judged as an extraordinary means for a person in an irreversible coma, and that is why a person with a terminal illness may determine that trying to cure the illness is worse than dying now.

Whose Life Is It Anyway? by Brian Clark
The text, "Whose Life is it Anyway?", by Brian Clark, has clearly illustrated that with the development of medical technology, people can now have a better quality of life.
Nevertheless, it is cruel to ask him to face this life if he does not desire it.
"What is the point of prolonging a person's biological life, if it is obtained at the cost of a serious assault on that person's liberty?" There is probably no simple answer for this question and each patient's individual wishes should be respected.

Forty-eight percent of those surveyed found that they have less time for exercise, 45% had less quality time for their partner, 42% were able to spend less time with friends and on social activities and 41% felt they had less time for hobbies/entertainment.
According to the Mental Health Foundation's 'Who's Life Is It Anyway?' report, work's corrosive effect on our lives is widespread.
Their survey uncovered 'a picture of loss on a large scale': relationship breakdown, loss of friendship, poor relationships with children, not being able to spend time with a terminally ill friend or relative - even cases where long hours at work precluded people from having a child or meeting a partner in the first place.

Kim Cattrall in Whose Life Is It Anyway?
Still Cattrall is superb as Claire: behind the surface resilience and smiling irony, she suggests a woman who demands the dignity of choice and aches with the loss of her sensual life.
It is a major performance by someone who is infinitely more than a TV star; and there is strong support from William Chubb as the dogged consultant, Ann Mitchell as a poker-backed Sister and Janet Suzman as a humane judge.

True, I'd always been a fan of the old-fashioned approach, the approach enshrined in books like James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small, where the vet is kindly and competent and does things the old-fashioned way.
In principle, at least, I was as irritated as anyone by the unceasing, often pointless-seeming innovation of modern American consumer life, the incessant alarms about the dangers of this toxin or that.
In fact, part of the appeal of having a dog had always been the connection it seemed to offer to a simpler way of life.

The idea of people losing control of their own life stories concerns some in journalism circles.
With reporters increasingly relaying news events in a narrative fashion - a style more prone to catch Hollywood's eye - key sources, wanting to protect their economic interests, may become less willing to talk to the media until they've first negotiated with the entertainment industry.

The problem can be summarized by saying that there is a nation, Israel, to whom God promised that land but the land is not vacant; there are other people who have occupied the same land for centuries.
