Wicca - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wiccans (initiatory or otherwise) worship the Goddess, with most also choosing to worship the God, her consort; they observe the festivals of the eight Sabbats of the year and the full-moon Esbats; they have a code of ethics that they live by.
Wiccans see their use of witchcraft as positive and good, and fl or evil magic is viewed as antithetical to Wiccan beliefs and activities.
In typical rites, the Wiccans assemble inside a magic circle, which is marked using various means, in a ritual manner followed by a cleansing and then blessing of the space.

 Wiccan
As you might have guessed, the name is a professional honorific, and not the name she was born with, but it’s just the sort of thing to take the religiously unstable and send them into whirling, hissing paroxysms of fury and fear.
Since most British midwives were Wiccan, and since the original biblical meaning of the term seems to have been adjusted along the line, I’ll assume that Wiccans have more right to be witches than the bible has to demand that they be killed.
He’s really annoyed that the state is paying a Wiccan $35,000 a year to be a prison chaplain, and he’s rounded up a bunch of the local peasants with pitchforks to demand an end to this blasphemy.

 Wiccan Devotionals
Some Wiccans believe, however, that there are a number of deities in the world/universe, some of whom are described as goddesses, some as gods, and some of either gender or other genders.
In practice, Wiccans can relate to a deity through formal introduction, through private research and devotional, or because of an experience of the particular deity which is perceived as having been initiated by the deity.
Wiccan priestesses and priests can dedicate their lives to the Goddess in general or a particular deity; can sponsor large celebrations intended to honor the deity and offer many people the opportunity to share the experience of that deity; can make a single rite intended to acknowledge that deity's force in the celebrant's life.

 FAQ's of Witchcraft (Print Version)
Traditional Wiccans are considered a 'mystery' religion, require initiation by the coven and have a "degree system" or different levels of rank based upon coven training and the readiness of the initiate to accept the duties and responsibilities of that degree.
Traditional Wiccans are seldom solitary except for those 'Elders'-usually former priests and priestesses-who may have retired from active coven involvement.
Wiccans adhere to the Rede, "An it harm none, do as ye will." Witches, Druids and other pagan belief systems and religions have their own ethical standards.

This is classified in the WICCAN section to this bookstore because this book is a primary reader for all those entering the Life course of Wiccan 101.
In the Wiccan Mysteries book, I have drawn largely upon the works of Joseph Campbell, Carlo Ginzburg, and Marija Gimbutas for the modern interpretation of mythology, paganism, and human spirituality.
In doing so they have missed what is most important in the work itself: the Wiccan Mysteries is a work focusing on the spirituality of modern Wicca, as well as an overview of its beliefs and practices.

 Wicca
Wiccans practice a number of rituals associated with such natural phenomena as the four seasons, the solstices and the equinoxes.
Only in their mythologies have Wiccan magick or Christian prayer stopped the flood, doused the lightning bolt, stilled the whirlwinds of tornado and hurricane, calmed the quaking earth, or put to sleep the tsunami.
That practice is related to the persecution of "witches" by Christians, especially during the medieval and Spanish Inquisitions, though not necessarily by the Inquisitors themselves.
