Wicket is a Java web application framework that takes simplicity, separation of concerns and ease of development to a whole new level.
Wicket does this and very little else, and that is a good thing.
Given this, the Wicket approach to the overall problem of evolving while keeping a high power to weight ratio will be partitioning off all controversial new ideas in a "contrib" package until they are broadly accepted.

Wicket is one of the most recent in a long line of Java web development frameworks and stands on the shoulders of many that have come before it.
Wicket is a component-based framework, which puts it in stark contrast to some of the earlier solutions to the sometimes monotonous task of web programming.
A detachable model in Wicket is a model which can get rid of a large portion of its state to reduce the amount of memory it takes up and to make it cheaper to serialize when replicating it in a clustered environment.

Each wicket consists of three sticks topped by two short bails that fit into grooves on the top of the sticks.
If the pitch knocks the bails off the wicket or hits the batsman in front of the wicket the batsman is out.
The batsman or "striker" at this wicket tries to hit the ball away from the fielders of the opposing team so he can exchange places with his team's batsman at the other wicket thereby scoring a run.

At the conclusion of a turn in which a wicket point is scored, the wicket clip of the color corresponding to the ball is placed on the next wicket or stake to be scored by that ball.
For example, if a ball scores a wicket and in the same stroke hits another ball beyond the wicket scored, this does not count as a roquet; the balls remain, however, in their new positions, and the striker continues play with the earned Wicket Bonus Stroke, which he may use to roquet the other ball.
The basic objective is to score all the wicket and stake points with both balls of your side first, employing the offensive and defensive moves that will best thwart the progress of the opponent.

In fact, Wicket has a generic and robust solution which can identify and expire browser-cached pages that have become stale due to structural changes to the model of a component on the page.
To accomplish this, Wicket consistently uses a single id attribute in the Wicket namespace ("wicket:id") to mark HTML tags that should receive special treatment by the toolkit.
Wicket is a simple class library with a consistent approach to component structure.

Wicket takes a similar approach as Tapestry's, and ensures that the HTML is easily consumable by standard 'HTML' applications, such as browsers and HTML editors like Macromedia Dreamweaver.
Because of Wicket's rich component model, the session management is extremely valuable for handling complex behavior such as processing form results - the component you associate with the UI to do the rendering of the form, will be the same one that consumes the result from the user.
Wicket labels will replace the contents of the markup they represent (in this case the tag) with their dynamic model data as a String (in this case the result of '"Aloha -<a href="/topics/Timed-out" title="Timed out" class=fl> The Time is: " </a>+ new Date()'.</td></tr> <tr><td></td><td colspan=2><font color=gray>www.javalobby.org /java/forums/t60786.html</font>   (1932 words)</td></tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table><body face="Arial"> <br> <table cellpadding=0> <tr> <td>  </td> <td> <table > <tr><td> </td><td colspan=2><a href="http://javageek.org/2006/03/08/comparing_web_frameworks_wicket.html">JavaGeek.org -
