Top 10 Nintendo Wii Complaints from 1UP.com
We can see wanting to avoid piracy, but the Wii is something Nintendo could update to kill freeloading tricks when and if they came up, and most anyone with that mentality already has all these games for their emulators, anyway.
The Wii's got a great little online backend and interface, but to get on there you have to go wireless.
Yeah, the Wii is cheap, but we're getting nickel and dimed to death on stuff that really should have been in the box.

Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii News & Information; buy Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii games - CNET.com
The Nintendo Wii--formerly known as the Revolution--makes use of special motion-sensitive controllers that allow you to swing a sword, throw a punch, or drive a car with a flick of the wrist rather than with the push of a button.
While the Sony and Microsoft consoles keep the branding of their respective predecessors, the oddly named Wii is a semantic departure from Nintendo's more literally named 2001 console, the GameCube.
Launch of Nintendo's Wii gaming console is set for Nov. 19 as IBM delivers the first batch of processors.

The Wii box includes everything you need to hook the system up to a standard television: the Wii console, a wireless controller with nunchuk adapter, the sensor bar, a cradle (for mounting the console vertically), the Wii's modestly sized power adapter, and a set of composite A/V cables.
Wii Sports also doubles as a tutorial for familiarizing yourself with the system's unique wireless controller, which is what really sets it apart from competing consoles--and all the game systems that have come before it.
The Wii is fully backward compatible with the Nintendo GameCube and includes four built-in GameCube controller ports and two GameCube memory card slots for gamers who want to enjoy their last-gen games.

Wii - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A feature unique to the Wii is the console's wireless controller, the Wii Remote (or "Wii-mote"), which may be used as a handheld pointing device and can detect motion and rotation in three dimensions.
The port for the sensor bar, a device used for the Wii Remote's three-dimensional sensing, is found at the rear of the console.
There is no indication that the Wii has the high-speed and serial ports present on the original GameCube, which means that unless otherwise indicated, the Game Boy Player and the Nintendo Gamecube broadband and modem adapters (which required those ports) will not be compatible with the Wii.

Wii Sports is the first title aimed at the non-gamer market.
Holding the wii-mote like an actual tennis racket, 4 players were able to serve and volley back and forth, simply by moving the wii-mote in the air, while the motion-sensing technology did the rest.
Players don't have to jockey for position, as their onscreen counterparts are always in the right spot, but they will have to swing the wii-mote at the right time to make the shot.
