  Wiki Spam
Spam of this kind has become common on weblog comment systems and sadly it looks like widespread WikiSpam may become a big problem in the future.
It seems, that some spam (or what else is is?) occurs always at 4:00 (see http://c2.com/mrtg/).
While that is true for all of the spamming morons, there is one in particular that is spamming other sites with the urls and text from sites that call him as a spammer.

Wiki maintainers can expect an increase in spam after a webmaster newsletter highlighted the effectiveness of Wiki spam in raising a site's Google ranking.
Spam and abusive behavior are not new issues for Wikis, web pages that anyone can edit or even delete.
Wiki maintainers can make their sites less attractive targets by using their robots.txt file to instruct the Googlebot and other search engine spiders to skip the sandbox pages.

WikiSpam is the wiki equivalent of e-mail and blog spam.
It would be nice if spam and spam reverting edits could disappear as minor edits from 'RecentChanges' page, however it should be noted that ticking your revert as a 'minor edit' does not have this effect, it just hides the fact that you have reverted the spam (better not to).

 Sam Ruby: Wiki Spam Update
Using nofollow in a wiki is really worthless and actually does more harm than good, so you'd be better off implementing some better server side filtering (perhaps a Bayesian filter combined with a few other techniques) so the spam doesn't even get published.
We run a wiki and haven't really had too much problem with wiki spammers, apart from one persistent guy from China who occasionally comes in and added dozens of links to about 10 pages every few weeks.
Since almost all the spam appears to be done manually rather than by a robot, we added a sleep(20) to the code before printing out the error message denying the edit - that should be frustrating enough for a persistent spammer, while hopefully not too annoying to a legitimate submitter getting it once.

 chongqed.org wiki: WikiSpam
Spamming is unwanted, antisocial, disruptive, and rude behavior.
Wikis are open to anyone to edit, but if your additions benefits you (and your PageRank) more than it benefits the wiki community it is most likely unwanted and spam.
Wikis can use it too, but since the entire wiki is user contributed all links would have a nofollow rather than just the comments as in blogs which is not ideal.

So it is important to really understand wiki spam and all the ways funded trolls might provide some advantage by manipulating or altering the overall Publish Wiki and Research Wiki mechanisms that, end to end, affect the price premiums and green lights.
Most differentiate between wiki spam' which is externally motivated, and genuine "new trolls", those honestly attracted by the wiki mission.
Most wiki spam is actually subtle and consists of inappropriate references to commercial products or services including raising questions or issues about them that put one type of service in a competitive advantage to another.

NewsForge | Stemming the menace of wiki spamming
Spam that is directed against a wiki usually consists of lists of links inserted in standard pages, such as user profiles or sandbox areas.
There seems to be agreement that "wiki spam is a wikiwide problem that needs to be solved wikiwide." Furthermore, the wiki spam problem has to be solved by different approaches than email or blog comment spam; both of these are subject to bottlenecks in a way that wikis are not.
Last week a Twiki wiki I am responsible for was hit by a wiki spam bot that registered using a stolen ID and then added a number of links to spam and phishing sites based in China.
