Convention: In general only create page titles that are in the singular, unless that noun is always in a plural form in English (such as economics or trousers).
Convention: In general, use the most common form of the name used in English and disambiguate the names of monarchs of modern countries in the format [[{Monarch's first name and ordinal} of {Country}]] (example: Edward I of England).
Convention: Languages which share their names with some other thing should be suffixed with "programming language" in the case of programming languages, or "language" in the case of spoken languages.

Convention: Avoid the use of acronyms in page naming unless the term you are naming is almost exclusively known only by its acronym and is widely known and used in that form (laser, radar, and scuba are good examples).
Convention: In general, use the most common form of the name used in English (not necessarily the name translated into English) and disambiguate the names of monarchs of modern countries in the format [[{Monarch's first name and ordinal} of {Country}]] (example: Edward I of England).
Convention: In titles of songs or albums, unless it is unique, the standard rule in the English language is to capitalize words that are the first word in the title and those that are not conjunctions (and, but, or, nor, for), prepositions (to, over, through) or articles (an, a, the, that).

Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Convention: Unless the term you wish to create a page for is a proper noun, do not capitalize second and subsequent words.
The capitalization on the common names of species has been hotly debated in the past and has remained unresolved.
As a matter of truce both capitalized and non-capitalized (except for proper names) are acceptable, but a redirect should be created from the alternative form.

All encyclopedia entries whose title is a Chinese names SHOULD include the Chinese characters and Pinyin representation for that name in the first sentence.
Such convention is not accepted in wikipedia and the family name would be ambiguous in "Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing".
It is sometimes ambiguous whether this is refering to a resident of Mainland China or a member of the group that fled with the KMT to Taiwan in 1949.

I have read about the naming conventions of Chinese nobility on the history standards page, and agree that the naming convention there is appropriate.
Currently three naming conventions seem to have emerged, and a unified convention should be agreed upon.

Stylistic conventions - if your language does not have a standardised universal form (way everybody speaks it to understand each other), you will need to have one or have a rule to tell people which forms or dialects of your language to use.
The month names derived from English are still in very common use in spoken and even written Maori.
As they are distinctly shorter than most of the recently reintroduced names (derived from Elsdon Best), they are used here in dates, including the (eventually 366) articles for the days of the year.

Existing wikibooks that do not follow these conventions are highly recommended to move their pages appropriately so that they conform to these conventions.
In general, the naming conventions of a book should be enforced over the entire book, and new additions to a book must follow existing book conventions.
The requirement for these pages to conform to naming conventions is less strict compared to modules as they often reside in the background.

To conform to our normal naming conventions, the phrase in parentheses should be treated just as any other word in a title: normally lowercase, unless it is a proper noun that always appears capitalized even in running text (such as a book title).

Names of religions, whether used as a noun or an adjective, and their followers start with a capital letter.
Philosophies, doctrines, and systems of economic thought do not begin with a capital letter, unless the name is derived from a proper noun: Lowercase republican refers to a system of political thought; uppercase Republican refers to a specific Republican Party (each party name being a proper noun).

 Wikipedia:Redirect - Wikipedia
In accordance with wikipedia:naming conventions (precision) it's best to have an article at a well-defined, unambiguous term, with redirects from looser colloquial terms, rather than vice versa.
If the redirect is broken, meaning it redirects to an article that does not exist, it can be deleted immediately, though you should check that there is not an alternative place it could be appropriately redirected to first.
If the redirect was created by renaming a page with that name, and the page history just mentions the renaming, and for one of the reasons above you want to delete the page, copy the page history to the Talk page of the article it redirects to.

Convention: Use the full name of countries and organizations, except when the acronym is more commonly known and/or when the length would be prohibitive.

People are always alphabetized by their family name, regardless of whether the person concerned puts his/her family name first or last.

Internally, the first letter of the target page is automatically capitalized and spaces are represented as underscores (typing an underscore in the link has the same effect as typing a space, but is not recommended).
Do not use this technique to make the article name bold in the first paragraph; see the Manual of Style.

 Naming conventions - LISWiki
Another naming practice is the choice of cutesy names and logos -- sometimes based on the region's mascot or something similar -- which may be of possible value for branding and marketing, but of no inherent meaning to new users.
While this may help advertise products to users under a name that cannot be fully removed from the library's instance and which may be shared by other libraries, there are several dangers to this practice.
Any time a library uses a vendor name to name or address a library service, they are potentially facing a situation like Houston Astros had with Enron Field (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enron_Field).

However, superscripts ¹, ², and ³ (which also exist on ISO 8859-1) do not have the same browser support limitations and can be used without problems, as long as a redirect from the title without the superscript is used.

 NamingConventions - Meta
The arbitrary naming convention used so far is very inconvenient and doesn't contribute at all to AccidentalLinking.
The argument that this convention makes it easier to search is obviated by the fact that, after all, people will organize all countries, all countries in Asia, all Muslim countries, etc., each on their own pages (in the near or distant future anyway), and more importantly, that a full text search is possible.
While I think that the current wiki names (squishing words together with capitals) are often useful to writers, they can make pages difficult to read and explain to users new to wikis.
