Talk:Artificial languages equal rights - Meta
Yes, a lot of natural languages are currently unable to make live a wikipedia; but the main reason is lack of internet access; we could expect that as internet access become more affordable for those speakers, then wikipedia in those languages will become a reality.
In the same way, a natural language that is not enough supported by its own speakers should be subject to deletion if under 500 articles or so...
Ido and Interlingua also have a large body of literature and seem to have a good number of articles here.

Wikipedia:Vanity guidelines - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is believed that the majority of vanity article creators forget about their vanity articles and do not revisit at all; this is evident in that they rarely defend the article during the deletion debate.
During any debates regarding vanity article that are listed at votes for deletion, disparaging comments may fly about the subject of the article/author (often presumed to be the same person) and the author's motives.
Vanity posters may post with the motive of increasing their own personal fame, or recognition of some group they are a part of.

The information contained in that article was removed rather than moved to hate speech.
This article was not fine, and was to be deleted, and then Axel took it upon himself to rename it, adding "slogan." Its still not valid material, and it already has a heading under hate speech.

An issue -- Ive on occasion made some shortcut redirects to wikipedia:articles that have long names like wikipedia:votes for deletion has a shortcut wikipedia:vfd (should be wiki:vfd) Sometimes because some of these pages are hard to find in a pinch.
It then occured to me to look at all the scatttered wikipedia pages -- here they are (unfiltered - there are some subuserpages that might have some relevant material) -- the issue is how to approach it.

He hasn't created that many articles, and it's debatable whether a sub stub is candidate for speedy deletion anyway.
We've got a fairly simple deletion policy at the moment, but obvious nonsense can certainly be deleted immediately.
Both have done some great work on finding pages that need to be deleted and I think it would be useful if they had the ability to carry out the deletions themselves.

Timeline of U.S. economic indicators is hopelessly outdated; wikipedia is not a place to write news articles.
As someone recommended on the teacher's discussion page, the students should be writing practice versions of the article on their own talk pages (or subpages) and moving the article into the main namespace when it is ready.

Wikipedia talk:Deletion policy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Like I have seen that some articles are merely voted for deletion, because they are some what ‘NPOV.
The general principle that I operate under is that while, occasionally, articles can be kept with more than two-thirds of the votes in favour of deletion no article can be deleted if it doesn't meet that criteria.
I think it is quite reasonable to say that people will be interested in seeking such information, for research and other purposes.

The other deletionist simply says "webcomics shouldn't need wikipedia to gain their reputation" (which I'm not doing -- a survey of my referral logs shows that I've had up to four people visit the site from the main listing and up to ten times as many visits from the Votes for Deletion page).
Concerning fiction, I, myself, am a deletionist, and have tried to work on deleting a lot of the very minute articles on shows like "Futurama," which is a series I love.
Of the other two that argue for deletion, one says she's never heard of the comic strip and if she's never heard of the comic strip it shouldn't be in there.

Wikipedia talk:Fame and importance - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm not really worried about deletion of "vanity articles", but I hope this doesn't lead to the deletion of non-famous and not very important towns, cultures, languages and other information.
Jimbo is correct in that we already have good operationalizable criteria like "verifiability", "promotion/advertising", etc. We have to ask ourselves if introducing this new criterion will help us obtain the non-triviality objective better than we are able to with only existing criteria.
The question is, How can that be done without lowering ourselves to subjective assessments of what we feel is important or using popular culture indices like Google hits.

 Sleepy-Head » Aaron and Wikipedia
It is accepted practice to delete non-neutral parts of articles if they are not salvagable, and articles whose notability is questioned will have that notability discussed with the deletion of the article as a possible outcome.
Neutrality, notability, validity, consensus are all more important to wikipedians.

 Wikipedia talk:Press releases/March 2005 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It's hard to say for sure, but thanks to an active bunch of count-watchers on IRC, the deletion log, and alterego's and JRM's snapshots, it's a fair guess that the 500k'th article was Involuntary settlements in the Soviet Union.
I tried loading the "Statistics" and "New Pages" times at the same time, and found that there were 500,193 articles, and that the 194th most recently-created article was Battle of Bean's Station.
(Also, I accidentally edited Battle of Collierville instead.).

Wikipedia talk:Preliminary Deletion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If preliminary deletion was limited to vanity pages about which there is no verifiable information available, then you might have a point.
Sidney Morgenbesser was listed on VFD as "vanity", for instance, and it fits none of the definition.
If you look at VFD probably less than 5% of articles listed there as "vanity" qualify as vanity according to that page.

Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
while they vary from things made up in school to band vanity to attack pages to articles about some game their buddy made that 4 people have ever played, they are all unverifiable.
So what I'm saying is that we should have an article creation process (at least for new users) that stresses verifiability.
(I would have proposed it first as this is a high traffic page but it's just a tweak) ++Lar: t/c 20:21, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
