In addition, over the past month, as the Hebrew wikipedia was racing towards the 10,000 article milestone, all of the sister projects were set up in Hebrew domains (Hebrew Wiktionary, WikiBooks, WikiQuote, and WikiSource; active users have begun adding content to all of them.
Actions are being considered to make this kind of vandalism harder or its cleanup easier.
A particular surprise is Ukrainian: after months of steady but unspectacular growth, it has suddenly put on a phenomenal growth spurt and added almost a thousand articles in a mere seven days; only English, German, and Japanese have done better.

It may be a good thing, to present a back-link to other pages needing cleanup prominently on the page, but it may be redundant to go about this through means of a category, however.
I am a newcomer to wikipedia; although I have been aware of it and used it on occasion for quite a while, I have only recently realised the depth of this resource, and discovered the mechanics behind it.

Posted by: Anonymous at October 11, 2005 03:50 PM I think everyone in the wikipedia community is trying very hard to make the quality "good" as you say; and wikipedia certainly responds to input such as this.
I certainly am not of the opinion that wikipedia is some transcendent work beyond the descriptions of good or bad, but I think this point might be looked at more closely.
If there were three wikipedias out there, I would say we should judge the wikipedia model by the best of the three.

When users find material not necessarily suited for inclusion, they have the ability to post the page for cleanup, vote for deletion or even list a user within the vandalism section.

 wikipedia talk:votes for deletion
I think forcing pages to go onto cleanup for two weeks before they are allowed to be posted on VfD is a very sensible idea.
And, it could be accomplished by simply placing a notice at the top of the VfD page, rather than encumbering everyone with a complicated system of WikiMoney, which might frighten newbies and irritate old hands.
Not only would this solve the overuse of VfD, it would also help stop the occasional listing on VfD of copyvios.

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Moral core - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Andris, a check of google using the search criterion ["moral code" -wikipedia -neutrality] returns some 4300 pages, some which direct to wiki wannabes (or what I call wikithieves - using wiki pages without attribution), but a large number of which indicate this term is in common use, and has a shared meaning.
From Cleanup: Moral core - I'm not sure what this article says, or if it's even a concept.
That links to Moral core become red is more encouragement to creation of a good article, if this is a reasonable topic for any article, than is leaving a very bad article.
