If a page loads faster and is actually a better presentation of the content than wikipedia, then there's nothing wrong with using it, but if it's just an inferior version then yeah, use the original.
But there should be no pressure to point to the original if there is a better alternative, that would be like telling someone they should use GNU Emacs instead of XEmacs because it's the original.
I think people like to just copy the wikipedia, game google a bit, and try and coast on the ad revenue.

 Talk:The Wikipedia Community - Meta
The wikipedia is supposed to be an encyclopedia in which the topics are not original research, or original thoughts.
I think many people do not have this question in mind, either because they give content that can not be useful for their professional carreer (thinking of all those taking care of articles on movies, news, american cities...) or because they are still students.
A community is a group of people united in a common goal.

Portuguese is no exception, and it is not spoken in Portugal today as it was 500 years ago, so you too use a form of Portuguese that is not the "original" and "pure" Portuguese anymore.
I have no quarrels with them using their particular own version of the language no matter how bizarre it may be, but right now, it's cannibalizing all other countries in the world and depriving them of their own - to top it all of, official and original - version.
As English is the lingua franca of the modern world, I'd suggest using the naming conventions of the English wikipedia for ordinary page names and categories, while the naming conventions of the respective wikipedia is used for the redirecting pages title (xx).

Esperanto - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Esperanto is particularly prevalent in the northern and eastern countries of Europe; in China, Korea, Japan, and Iran within Asia; in Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico in the Americas; and in Togo and Madagascar in Africa.
After some ten years of development, which Zamenhof spent translating literature into the language as well as writing original prose and verse, the first Esperanto grammar was published in Warsaw in July 1887.
The anime RahXephon makes use of Esperanto for the acronym of TERRA, which stands for "Tereno Empireo Rapidmova Reakcii Armeo." This can be translated as "Earth Empire Rapid Response Army," though pedants might note that a better Esperanto rendition of this name would be "Rapid-Reaga Armeo de la Tera Imperio".

It does not refer to original research that is published or available elsewhere (although such research may be excluded if editors consider the source to be disreputable or inappropriate).
BTW - My experience with original research, including my own, is such that I am sure that any view that cannot get out through other channels is failing to do so with good reason, meaning that it is therefore almost certainly incorrect.
