		Overton began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Oklahoma men's basketball program in 1983-84, followed by a year each as an assistant coach with the Continental Basketball Association's Pensacola (Fla.) Tornadoes (1985-86) and Oral Roberts University (1987-88).
		Overton became the 22nd player in OU men's basketball history to be drafted professionally.
