Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wile E. Coyote (also known simply as "The Coyote") and the Road Runner are cartoon characters from a series of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons, created by Chuck Jones in 1949 for Warner Brothers.
The Road Runner shorts are very simple in their premise: the Road Runner, a flightless cartoon bird (loosely based on a real bird, the Greater Roadrunner), is chased down the highways of the Southwestern United States by a hungry toon coyote, named Wile E. Coyote (a pun on "wily coyote").
However, a few years later after this episode in 1993, the costume and prop company Illusive Concepts created an oversized latex Halloween Wile E. Coyote mask; it is quite popular with furry costumers.

Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote History Summary
The Road Runner and Coyote cartoons have endured since 1949, when legendary director Chuck Jones and storyman Michael Maltese created Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner for the Warner Brothers cartoon short "Fast and Furry-Ous." The cartoon established a formula that has continued to entertain audiences for half a century.
Cartoons featuring Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner first appeared as "curtain-raisers" in theatres, eventually moving to television.
In these cartoons, the Coyote is somewhat snooty and introduces himself as "Wile E. Coyote, Genius." Of course, in spite of being a genius, he can't outwit the likes of Bugs Bunny.

This hand-painted edition captures Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner in the classic Chuck Jones cartoon short.
The Director Series represents an outstanding collector opportunity...each work of art in the series is a hand-painted recreation of a classic moment in animation as directed by one of the Warner Bros. legends.
Since virtually all of the original animation cels and drawings from prior to 1970 were destroyed, limited editions are often the only way to collect these memorable and classic moments in animation history.

The Coyote and Road Runner were both created by Chuck Jones (1912-2002) for 1949's Fast and Furry-ous; the cartoon featured the Coyote's failed attempts to catch (and eat) the Road Runner in a sparse desert setting, despite unending supplies coming from a firm ironically called ACME (in Greek, acme means “the highest point”, “peak”).
