This was the case of the boxer Wilfredo Gomez (born October 29, 1956).
Gomez kept on going until his streak reached 33 knockouts in a row.Those 33 knockouts in a row included his biggest victory ever, a 4 knockdown, 5 round defeat of Mexican world Bantamweight champion Carlos Zarate, who was 55-0 with 54 knockout wins coming into their San Juan bout.
Gomez is also a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame and, during July of 2002, plans to take his life to Hollywood's big screen were announced.

Wilfredo Vazquez (born August 2, 1960) is a boxer who is a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
Two more wins followed before he suffered a serious blow in life: On August 21, the night of Wilfredo Gomez's loss at the hands of Salvador Sanchez, his father suffered a heart attack, dying from it.
He was supposed to participate at the undercard of the Carnival of Champions in New Orleans, where Gomez beat Lupe Pintor and Thomas Hearns beat Wilfredo Benitez, but an injury during training prevented him from doing so.

I was thinking he was Champ at 122,champ at 126(after Sanchez died)and then 130(on that awful Lockridge Decision).
I think Gomez could have made 118 for the first several years of his career but chose to fight at 122.
