Morrow was a lonely man, and was clearly influenced by the West Coast Rotary concept of 'Boosting' that was responsible for initial Rotary growth and much regretted by the founder of the movement in Chicago.
Morrow had never actually met Paul Harris and it seems that his drive came from the reality of boosting which outweighed the ethic of service at a time when Rotary's direction (if any) was not yet decided.
As with the other Morrow Clubs, some of his activities were not to the liking of the London Club and in 1914 he returned to the United States.

Mark Twain is an American treasure desparately in need of being rescued from the moth balls of high school English.
In a new biography, INVENTING MARK TWAIN (William Morrow and Company, 1997; 572 pages), scholar Andrew Hoffman attempts to do just that, with somewhat mixed results.
The premise of Hoffman's biography is exciting: "Mark Twain," according to Hoffman, is not Samuel Clemens' alter-ego so much as he is his creation; a creation that, at times, becomes as much a monster as Victor Frankenstein's.

In a long-anticipated book deal that brings two subsidiaries of HarperCollins together to publish a single title, William Morrow and Zondervan have inked an agreement with former Atlanta hostage Ashley Smith for a memoir.
According Lisa Gallagher, Morrow senior vice president and publisher, the unusual decision to co-publish Smith’s forthcoming book, Unlikely Angel: The Untold Story of the Atlanta Hostage Hero, came about because the editors felt the book could reach a wider audience through a joint effort.
During a dramatic standoff with police on March 14, Smith convinced kidnapper Brian Nichols—a then-at-large-fugitive who allegedly killed four people before apprehending Smith—to surrender, after reading him a passage from Rick Warren’s Zondervan megaseller, The Purpose-Driven Life.
