Porter's dealings with Ryder-Taylor, unfortunately, were a mistake, and O. Henry's posthumously published collection of sketches and stories, Rolling Stones (1912), for the most part detracted from his reputation, although the work does contain one or two good stories, such as "A Fog in Santone" (Long 135).
