William Alexander was the son of John James and Mary Ann (Mahoney) Grimshaw and the grandson of George and Charlotte (Menard) Grimshaw; both of these families are the subject of companion webpages.
William was apparently born while John James and Mary Ann were in transit from Wolfe Island to their final place of settlement in Wisconsin.
William and Jane Grimshaw are buried at the Bowen cemetery at Richland Center, Wisconsin.

Signed by his mark Thomas Gibson "T".(Melungeon and Other Pioneer families) Thomas Gibson mark was a 'T' and George Gibson mark was "G" They used these marks when they eventually sold land in Orange county, NC.
Thomas Gibson made a land entry on 9 June 1780 on Cranberry Path in Wilkes Co., N.C. This land was near the South Fork of New River in present day Ashe Co., N.C., entry # 1858.(Wilkes County, North Carolina, Land Entry Book 1778-1781) Thomas Gibson's family migrated to Fort Blackmore before 1800.
William Riddle and his brother in-law William Nichols were both hung but not together, so this man Speltz was telling about an event that happened after these nine were captured, thus the hanging of Nichols and Riddle.

Some men are their own ancestors, and, for aught we know, Thomas Watson's genealogy reflected no fame upon him, but derived all its lustre from his achievements.
We are not at all surprised to learn that Thomas Watson enjoyed the repute, while at Cambridge, of being a most laborious student; the great Puritanic authors must have been most industrious workers at the university, or they never would have become such pre-eminent masters in Israel.

William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) was born in Dublin, Ireland, the eldest of four children born to Susan Pollexfen and John Butler Yeats.

William Graham, known as "The Pioneer", left Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1793, together with his two sons William and James.
On April 25, 1803, a marriage bond was issued to William Graham, the older son, and Catherine MacKenzie, known to the Graham family as "Mary." William and his wife had five children.
Left with the care of his widowed daughter-in-law and five children, William Graham sent to Scotland for his nephew Benjamin, who, together with his sister Mary, arrived in 1814.

The Will proved in 1831 for a William WHEATON could belong to this William "It may be significant that his widow (Mary HALLETT) died in October 1823.
Several members of the family of Thomas and Elizabeth married at this church.
As Mary Ann is shown as "daughter" on the 1851 census it is likely that Elizabeth CITTERN and William ROGERS are the niece and nephew of Mary Ann's father, rather than of Thomas WHEATON.

I have read some sources which state that Anne's name was Elston and others list her name as Anne Spencer.
However, each seems feasible as my line is through Spencer, a brother of both William Elston and Thomas.
