William Henry Waddington (December 11 1826 - January 13 1894) was a French statesman.
After standing unsuccessfully for the départment of the Aisne in 1865 and 1860 Waddington was returned by the constituency the election of 1871.
He was minister of public instruction the short-lived cabinet of May 19 1873 and in 1876 having been elected senator for the he was again entrusted by Dufaure with the ministry of public instruction which as a Protestant he was not permitted to combine ministry of public worship.

Hi Simon, another Waddington, I like some of the other folk have yet to meet another Waddington, face to face that is. I was born in Yorkshire, England and we emigrated to Australia in 1961.
I recently purchased a document dated 1790 at an auction in which William Waddington of Clifford in the Parish of Bramham in the County Yeoman is cited.
I am not a Waddington but in researching the Hemingway side of my family from Dewsbury I discovered my great aunt Sarah Ellen Hemingway married Solomon Waddington from Elland, one of their children was Albert Ilion Waddigton born in 1880 who my father told me emigrated to America.
