William Wedgwood Benn, 1st Viscount Stansgate, PC (10 May 1877 - 17 November 1960) was a British Liberal MP who later joined the Labour Party.
In 1928 Benn was re-elected as a Labour member for Aberdeen North.
Benn was elected as Labour MP for Gorton near Manchester in 1937.

Anthony Neil Wedgwood Benn (born April 3, 1925), known as Tony Benn, and briefly as the 2nd Viscount Stansgate, is a British politician regarded as being on the left of the Labour Party.
Knowing that he would be disqualified from the British House of Commons when his father died and he inherited the title of Viscount Stansgate, he campaigned from the early 1950s for a change in the law to allow peers to renounce their titles and sit in the Commons.
Benn's Bristol South-East constituency was abolished by boundary changes in 1983, and he was defeated in the neighbouring seat of Bristol East by the Conservative's first non-white MP, Jonathan Sayeed.
