The Wilmore track pan facility was manned 24 hours a day from November 1 to April 1, and intermittently for the rest of the year.
The Wilmore pans continued in operation until the spring of 1953, when sections were cut out to enable expansion of the dry steel of the remaining pans when the water was drained.

WILMORE - The city of Wilmore's plan to annex land for a new Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course has hit a snag.
Bruce Smith, the attorney who is counsel for the Jessamine County-City of Wilmore Joint Planning Commission, said the meeting was canceled so he can "assess the strength of that suit" and determine whether the commission should proceed with a public hearing.
Wilmore Mayor Harold Rainwater said he was "a bit surprised and shocked" by the suit, but had no other comment.

Ordained in 1950 by Philadelphia Presbytery, Wilmore served churches in Pennsylvania and worked for the Middle Atlantic Student Christian Movement and the UPCUSA’s Department of Social Education and Action before embarking on his academic career.
In 1972, Wilmore resumed his teaching career, serving at Boston University School of Theology, Colgate Rochester Divinity School, New York Theological Seminary and the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta before his retirement in 1990.

Located on the western slope of the Alleghenies near the PRR’s Pittsburgh Division milepost no. 260.8, Wilmore was the scene of both heavy freight and fast passenger traffic.
To protect the trackbed from erosion by water splashed during scooping, thousands of Belgian blocks were laid beside the tracks and a series of drains installed.

The PRR used Trackpans in several locations, one notably in Wilmore, Pennsylvania which is located on the West Slope about 14 miles East of Johnstown.
The grade around Wilmore was minor, a flat spot in the West Slope, so pans were installed, and water was supplied by a reservoir built in Wilmore by the PRR which still exists today.
I have seen pictures of Freights taking on water at Wilmore and they filled the tenders in short order...Huge spills and sprays of water out the rear of the tenders were observed in some pictures.
