Wilsons Promontory National Park (or more rarely Wilson's Promontory National Park), commonly known as Wilson's Prom, is a national park in the Gippsland region of Victoria (Australia), 157 km southeast of Melbourne.
As a National Park, Wilson's Promontory is home to a wide range of wildlife species, including kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, emus, a wide range of small marsupials, and numerous species of birds, most prominent among which are the rosellas.
It is mainland Australia's southernmost national park, known for its beautiful rainforests, unspoiled beaches, and abundant wildlife.

Wilsons Promontory National Park, also known locally as "the Prom", contains the largest coastal wilderness area in Victoria.
Wilsons Promontory or Wilson's Promontory is a peninsula that forms the southernmost part of the Australian mainland and is located at 39°02′S 146°23′E.
The only settlement within Wilsons Promontary is Tidal River which lies 30km inside the park boundary and is the focus for tourism and recreation.

The Yanakie Isthmus, a sandy bar connecting the promontory to the mainland, was added to the park in the 1960s on condition that the seasonal grazing which began in 1852 be allowed to continue.
Information about the promontory is available from the visitors' centre at Tidal River, 32 km within the park, which also contains accommodation and other facilities, including barbecues, picnic areas, toilets and a museum with audio-visual displays.
The promontory is in fact one of the highest points on a batholith (a huge igneous rock deposit) which is 300-km long and, at times, 50-km wide and which links Tasmania to the rest of Australia.
