Parliament rejected the scheme and it was re-promoted as the London and Southampton Railway : it was authorised by Act of Parliament in 1834.
This subsequently became the standard for the entire Southern Railway, almost certainly because of the influence of Sir Herbert Ashcombe Walker, who had come from the London and North Western Railway to be General Manager of the LSWR in 1912; in 1914 he had also been appointed as Chairman of the wartime Railway Executive Committee.
Yeoford Junction beyond was Coleford Junction and the branch railway to Barnstaple and Ilfracombe.

The Winchester Star-Railway Archives Buys Boyce Station
Built in 1913, the Boyce Railway Station was used as a combination passenger and freight station for the Norfolk and Western Railway.
Rather than being used as a traditional museum, the approximately 4,000-square-foot railway station will be more of a repository for information on en route mail distribution.
We have looked at buildings as far away as Greenback, Tenn., and Cumberland, Md., but this is perfect, with the train station and the fact that this building was used by the town of Boyce as their post office,” Scheer said.

 Basingstoke's Railway History in Maps
On subsequent maps, stations are marked by blobs on the lines, and when these stations first appear on the maps, letters are used in conjunction with a key beneath each map to indicate the name of each station.
On the other, the nationalised railway was organised on a regional basis, with the regional boundaries generally being drawn in the same places as the boundaries between the earlier companies.
A mural on the station calls it Winchfield and Hartley Row, which I suspect to be a mistake, as the Hampshire Chronicle report of the first train to Basingstoke calls this station Winchfield and Shapley Row.
