Fluent NEWS - Summer 2005 - The Economy of Large Scale Wind Turbines
Wind energy, for example, is a low density source of power, available almost everywhere but not necessarily all the time, and its efficient exploitation requires continued in-depth studies.
In addition, the ability to predict the downstream wake from a wind turbine is significant factor for determining the interactions between turbines.
The classical blade element momentum (BEM) method was adopted for the design of the turbine rotor [2], using the specifications for the three-bladed horizontal axis Nordtank 41/500 turbine [3] and NACA 63-4xx profiles [4].

TCM Acupuncture Theory - Five Element Theory Relationships and Clinical Usage
In modern clinical practice the five element theory is used in varying degrees depending on the practitioner and style of acupuncture that they practice.
Additionally, elements of the theory are useful for assisting patients with nutritional balancing and/or working through emotional issues.
Examples of this cycle are the Wood element providing the generative force for Fire, Fire providing the generative force for Earth, etc. This relationship provides the foundation for understanding five element theory and, consequently, where imbalances may arise within the cycle.

In teaching classical five-element acupuncture over the years, I have encountered several major misunderstandings surrounding the theory and practice of this system.
The causative factor is the element among the five which has been so damaged by internal or external stress and trauma (including hereditary factors) that it becomes unable to fully recover.
Myth: Classical five-element acupuncture is fine for addressing those rare and ethereal matters of the spirit, but it is basically useless for addressing physical symptoms.

Liver disharmonies often have symptoms of tensions and diffused pains in general, tensions and pains specifically in the chest and rib areas, anger, irritability, anxiety, "stress," and depression, menstrual irregularities, premenstrual symptoms, acute symptoms in the head: headaches especially, sometimes dizziness, ringing in the ears, eye problems, spasms, shaking in the muscles.

Rhetoric and Poetry in the Renaissance, by Donald Lemen Clark, Ph.D.
This rhetorical terminology was derived from three sources: directly to some extent from the classical rhetorics themselves; indirectly through the influence of classical rhetoric upon the terminology of the Italian critics of poetry; and indirectly, to a considerable extent, through the mediæval modifications of classical and post-classical rhetoric.
Whereas classical rhetoric deals with speeches which might be delivered to convict or acquit a defendant in the law court, or to secure a certain action by the deliberative assembly, or to adorn an occasion, classical poetic deals with lyric, epic, and drama.
By far the greater bulk of classical treatises on poetic is devoted to characterization and to the technic of plot construction, involving as it does narrative and dramatic unity and movement as distinct from logical unity and movement.

Even Milton, the greatest scholar among English poets, but whose imagination was a strong agent, holding strange elements in solution, incurred their censure for bringing Saint Peter and the sea-nymphs into dangerous juxtaposition in "Lycidas." Davis does an admirable job balancing all the assorted sampled instruments/keyboards and has almost universal success in their sonic quality (occasionally, the solo violin could be upgraded slightly, but the solo wind instruments, notably the flute, sound great, as do the massed string sections, especially the violins).
All in all, Davis has done a very good job in recreating the sound and feel of romantic classical music, especially from the Baroque period, and many tracks are wonderfully expressive of the warmer emotions: happiness, love, joy, cheer; he is also able to portray regret and longing nicely on a few selections.
