Mannequin Land has mannequins for all.
The window mannequin emerged in the mid-1980s to take advantage of the big window spaces in the first stores built with steel girders, an architectural change soon followed by electric lighting that made store windows into theater.
That slow evolution, in which the material dummies gradually resembled live models with bodies of extreme physical beauty, seems to have run its course, with the 1980s mannequins quickly taking on a dated feel.
It was the 1960s that propelled the mannequin into the elaborate poses developed in fashion photography and made possible by fiberglass technology, lightening and cheapening the body parts to assemble in gravity-defying poses.

We’re sure you’ve heard it before: Daylighted schools report better test scores; big-box retail stores with daylighting bring in more dollars per square foot; residents in senior-living facilities sleep better and live longer when regularly exposed to daylight; hospital patients located next to windows recuperate more rapidly than those farther away from daylight and views.
The concentrated amount of visible light and heat it generates aren’t ideal for lighting spaces.
Good daylighting allows electric lights to be dimmed or turned completely off during the day (assuming the weather cooperates), when the majority of other facilities have their lights on.
