The Windows Component Wizard, which is used for adding or removing OS features, allows further customization based on "platform." The component installer would allow the user to add features supporting Tablet PC, which is based on Windows XP Professional.
As previously reported, Windows Media Player 9 Series Player found in the leaked Longhorn is a newer build, 2991 vs. 2980 for the one publicly available, as is the version of Internet Explorer included with the new operating system.

While not nailed down, Microsoft says that Windows Longhorn is likely to require at least 512MB of RAM, a recent microprocessor, and the latest graphics card for all of the features to work properly.

Also, Longhorn is built upon Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, which in turn is based on Windows XP Service Pack 2, so you'll notice some of the features like the firewall and the new Windows Security Center are common to Longhorn and Windows XP.
Longhorn doesn't even have a name yet, but it's by far the most promising thing to come out of Redmond in quite a while.

News about a potential delay for Windows Longhorn, the next major update to Windows XP, has quickly evolved from pointless analyst predictions to so-called fact, and several major tech news outlets have reported Microsoft's supposed setbacks.
But Microsoft has never announced a precise Longhorn release date, opting instead to refer to indistinct dates that are a few years away because of the complexity of what the company hopes to achieve with the Longhorn release.
Windows is a good product, and it is exciting to know that they are taking time to get it right, however it will make it 3-4 years between releases and I am not sure they can hold off Linux that long.

Osprey: I like Windows FX too but you have to consider that at least 90%, and I am conservative, of the potential future users don't have a clue about what FX means.
Besides in the case of Longhorn, when it comes down to it who would want to buy "Windows Cow", and think of all the bad press jokes after its released..."Windows Longhorn - where's the beef?" "Steer Away from Longhorn" etc. etc.
