Wing Gambit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In chess, Wing Gambit is the name given to the branches of several openings in which one player gambits a wing pawn, usually the b pawn (see algebraic chess notation).
There are two Wing Gambits in the French Defence, 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 c5 4.b4 and 1.e4 e6 2.Nf3 d5 3.e5 c5 4.b4.
Even rarer is the Wing Gambit in the Bishop's Opening, 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Bc5 3.b4, which has some resemblance to the Evans Gambit.

Four Gambits to Beat the French
Four Gambits To Beat the French by Tim Harding is the latest Chess Digest publication and, like the Silman Sicilian book I discussed in a previous review, it is physically of a much higher standard than works from this publisher were a few years ago.
Anyway, to return to my point, it is not always clear how ultimately effective these four gambits seem to be, especially as they are gambits for White, who at the very least doesn't want to emerge from the opening with a disadvantage.
Regarding the Winkelmann-Reimer (probably the best of these gambits), he says: "I think the WRG is perhaps objectively unsound...," but that it's a "better practical chance than most of White's sharp alternatives to 4.e5," which is not saying much.

See If You Can’t Lockdown that Gambit
The Gambit deck, while Joey made it sound simple to build in his Gambit Article, is actually one of the harder deck types to construct and win a majority of the time with.
As discussed previously a gambit deck is based around a certain combo and this combo usually doesn't develop until the late game (8 or more turns).
When you draw your initial hand you are going to want to keep all the Peace on Naboos and Lull in the Fightings that you draw, seeing that they are a major part in your gambit combo.

Wing on Wing's title derives from a sailing term but also might describe the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, home of the city's Philharmonic, for which it was written.
The work moves to an adagio in the low registers of horns and tubas signaling the arrival of sleep only to be blissfully interrupted with the rise of the colorful sun announcing day with ascending brass themes, artfully unresolved as befitting the unknown that accompanies dawn.
The term 'wing on wing' is taken from the nautical term of opening the foresail and mainsail to maximum amount of surface of capture all of the wind available.

I'll make one exception to the latter: the Benko Gambit is a pretty good line: not 'sharp' exactly, but one that gives Black a clear line of play to pursue, for the cost of a pawn.
