This is one of the early Skycraft Scout ultralight aircraft designed by Ron Wheeler in 1974.
The Scout was the first power aircraft to use modern technologies, such as extruded aluminum and high strength synthetic fabrics, to produce an ultralight or minimum aircraft.
Seen as a great step backwards in aircraft design the Scout challenged the basis of general recreational aviation and was instrumental in opening up the ultralight aircraft industry in Australia.

The first Scout to be built in significant numbers was the Scout C, which entered service in early 1915.
Flying in Bristol Scout 'C' 1611 which was fitted with a Lewis gun angled out from the center-section at a 45° angle to clear the propellor arc, Hawker attacked three German aircraft and downed one in flames on 25 July 1915, with another being forced to land.
The wing struts are set in the lower wing at the approximate angle.

The Bristol Scout was originally designed as a sports racer in 1913.
Originally unarmed, the Scout was later equipped with a variety of armaments, but it proved ineffective in aerial combat against custom-designed fighters.
In the Australian Flying Corps, the scout was used principally as a trainer, but it was trialled for a brief period by 1 Squadron in Egypt.

The Scout was the world's first commercially available powered 'minimum' aircraft – rigid wing rather than a Rogallo – and started a new Australian industry.
The early Scout was an extremely basic machine, a publication describing it as "the ultimate in simple tube and Dacron design." It utilised a cambered single surface wing (rather than a full aerofoil wing), a yacht mast spar and had only rudder and elevator controls; and was easily transportable.
The original Scout was underpowered but nevertheless, on a good day, it usually flew.
