Air Force Technology - Su-47 (S-37) Berkut - Experimental Fighter Aircraft
The ailerons - the wing's control surfaces - remain effective at the highest angles of attack, and controllability of the aircraft is retained even in the event of airflow separating from the remainder of the wings' surface.
The wing panels of the Su-47 are constructed of nearly 90% composites.
The leading-edge root extensions blend smoothly to the wing panels, which are fitted with deflectable slats on the leading edge; flaps and ailerons on the trailing edge.

The simplest answer is that the left wing was exposed to fire only near the wing root, the more distal portions being completely beyond the reach of flames or heat sufficient to melt the aluminum, let alone to burn it.
Clearly, no other portion of the wing could have been in contact with the Pentagon wall at that moment and the entire weight of the wing still, traveling at 500-plus miles per hour, would have produced a bending force that was entirely concentrated on the point of contact of the wing with the support column.

 Defending the Motherline
Wing chun (Cantonese, wing chun; Mandarin, yong chun) is a southern Chinese martial art that has been spreading in the British Commonwealth, the United States and parts of Continental Europe and Asia.
The structure of wing chun as a way to truth uses the practice of self-defense as a search for wisdom.2 The conquest of fear is part of the journey of liberation and understanding the Self is a key to its defense.
The orientation toward the integrity of the motherline and its axis is a singular characteristic of the art of wing chun.

When the wings were in their swept-back position they merged with the tailplane to give a delta-wing planform.
They were forced to abandon the swing-wing design in favour of a delta wing design, like that used by the Lockheed design they had beaten.

If the mythical Yim Wing Chun invented Wing Chun, and then later on passed it to her husband, who later took it to the Red Boats, this places the time frame again in the 1800's, creating a problem with the time frame in question.
When Wing Chun left the Temple, most of the people learning it were not doing so for the purpose of cultivating the heart or nourishing their nature.
Wing Chun was created in the Southern Shaolin Temple where it filtered to the Red Boat Opera through the Secret Societies, more than a century after it left the Southern Shaolin Temple.

Since the requirements were high speed, a bomb load of at least 4000 kg (8818 lbs) and a range of 5000 km (3107 miles), it was realized that the project could best be fulfilled by using a flying wing design with a laminar high speed profile.
The Arado Ar E.555-1 was constructed entirely of metal (both steel and Duraluminum), and was basically a flying wing with a short, circular cross section forward fuselage where the pressurized cockpit was located.
The main landing gear undercarriage consisted of two tandem, dual wheeled units that retracted inwards into the wing, and the front landing gear was a single, dual wheeled unit that retracted to the rear to lie beneath the cockpit.

Wingtips, the thickness and curve of the wings, flight controls and high-lift devices are all designed to maximise their effectiveness in a certain profile.
So if a wing was mounted in the very centre of an aircraft, but swept back 45 degrees, the 'centre of lift' would act at a point halfway between the front and rear of the wing.
If you were to invert the sweep of wings (by swinging from rear to front) you would greatly disturb the centre of lift and centre of gravity of the aircraft to the point where it would become unflyable.

Wing Chun is not based on animal movements as many other styles of Chinese kungfu, nor does it demand extraordinary physical abilities such as some Northern China Kung Fu styles.
Due to this unique characteristic of Wing Chun, there are many variations and styles of this art today and each could claim their own roots and history.
Various stories about the origins of Wing Chun are usually based on legends, which could have been obscured by the original tellers for political reasons of that time and further distorted by translations between different dialects of Southern China.
