The upcoming season marks the Winkler Flyers' 25th year in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and the Orange and Black will open the 2005/2006 campaign September 16th at the Winkler Recreation Complex when they take on the visiting Waywayseecappo Wolverines.
Josh Froese has been an integral part of the Winkler Flyers line-up for the past three seasons and today it became official, the hometown product will close out his four year MJHL career with the only Junior team he's ever known.
For three seasons with the Orange and Black Colin Herman was a leader in the locker room, now he's headed to the classroom, as his hard work has been rewarded with an athletic scholarship from Neumann College.
