Winslow is a small market town in north Buckinghamshire, in the centre of the Vale of Aylesbury.
Winslow Hall, which sits on the main road leading into the town from Aylesbury, is thought to have been designed by Sir Christopher Wren circa 1700, in his latter days twenty-five years after he designed St Paul's Cathedral in London.
On Boxing Day 2003 due to an unprecedented number of supporters the traditional meet was held in front of Winslow Hall.

WINSLOW, in the hundred of Cotslow and deanery of Muresley, is a market town about fifty miles from London, on the road to Buckingham.
In 1599, the manor of Winslow was granted to Sir John Fortescue, who in 1619 sold it to Sir George Villiers, afterwards Duke of Buckingham: it was purchased in 1697, under an act of parliament, of the representatives of the second duke, by William Lowndes esq.
Certain fields within the hamlet of Shipton, were inclosed by an act of parliament, passed in 1743; and the whole parish by an act passed in 1766, when allotments of land were assigned to the impropriator and vicar, and a small allotment for the poor.

Winslow in Buckinghamshire is a town of about 4,500 population.
It was given by King Offa of Mercia to St Alban's Abbey, and remained the property of the Abbey until the Dissolution of the Monasteries.
The skyline of Winslow, when you approach it from the south, is dominated by the chimneys of Winslow Hall, built in 1700 for William Lowndes, and supposedly designed by Sir Christopher Wren, presumably on a bad day.

At their meeting on 11th June, 1835, the new Winslow Board of Guardians invited architect Sampson Kempthorne to advise them regarding the alteration of the existing Winslow parish workhouse for use by the Union.
After 1930, the former workhouse was known as Winslow Institution, then after the formation of the National Health Service in 1948 it became Winslow Hospital.
