Virelli, 51, of Hulsemann Street, Philadelphia, were each named by a State Grand Jury as leader of a narcotics trafficking network, indicating that the two men headed the methamphetamine network, said Paul Zoubek, director of the Division of Criminal Justice.
It was through the cooperative efforts of many law enforcement agencies in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and on the federal level that an alleged drug ring of this magnitude was shut down," Verniero said.
The trooper was able to infiltrate the alleged organization and made numerous purchases of illegal drugs from its members that led to the indictment.
