Winston Raymond Peters (born April 11, 1945) is a New Zealand politician and the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, outside cabinet.
Peters was born in the northern town of Whangarei.
Peters unsuccessfully challenged this decision in the High Court, and in early 1993, he chose to resign from the party and from Parliament.

Foreign Minister Winston Peters is in hospital after contracting a tropical illness during his recent trip to Malaysia for the ASEAN Regional Forum.
Mr Peters became unwell at the weekend after stopping in Brisbane en route from Kuala Lumpur and was admitted to hospital to undergo medical tests.
Mr Peters is expected to remain in hospital for up to a week.

It's really worth listening to, as is the interview with Shalen Shandil from Radio Apna, the so-called "Islamic Radio station" (y'know, the kind of Islamic radio station largely run by Hindus) that Peters claimed had been broadcasting seditious incitements to terrorism.
It transpires that the broadcast was a call to a talkback show that ran all of six seconds before being cut off by the host.
Peters never heard it and made no attempt to contact the station and check his facts before he made his claims.

I particularly loathe Winston Peters, so I've been pleased to see that his filthy billboards are being defaced by right-thinking citizens.
(For those of you who've been spared them, they show Winston's leering face superimposed on a graph with a rising red arrow, accompanied by the legend "Immigration's up, Treaty Claims are up, crime's up").
