As of July 1, the Hungarian budget airline WizzAir will be able to fly from Poland to Venice (three times a week) and Budapest (four times a week).

Maybe Wizzair does not have a flamboyant and charismatic CEO (neither does EZY at this moment by the way!) but don´t underestimate the potential power of the eastern european market, as low cost is the only kind of air travel that most people are able to afford.
Wizzair may be looking at other UK airports if this report in today's Bristol Evening Post is anything to go by.
Wizzair have announced that from the 10 August they will commence a twice daily service from Luton to Warsaw and a daily service from Luton to Gdansk.

 Passenger Opinions about Wizz Air
Once onboard Wizzair is excellent, just a shame about the free seating policy and subsequent scramble to get a half-decent seat.
I wish Wizzair would read these comments and consider revising this policy - other low-cost airlines manage to assign seats and thereby maintain some sort of civilised behaviour without affecting the price of their product.
Originally booked on the 16th February, Wizzair decided to cancel this flight as part of their program of reducing capacity on existing routes so allowing them to open new routes.

I was speaking to a Polish guy I know yesterday and he told me that he had heard that the low cost airline Wizzair are arranging to begin flights to GLA from Warsaw.
Wizzair have announced in the past few days that they are cutting their proposed 16x daily winter services from/to Luton down to, on some days, 10 x daily.
I think Wizzair recently annouced flights to LPL from Poland and Hungary, and I have heard mention of them possibly at NCL as well (although this is perhaps less likely now that EZY are planning NCL-BUD), so they certainly seem capable of looking beyond London.

I am taking a flight from Budapest to Paris direct for about 84 dollars, and I was curious if anyone here has had a good experience with them.
Wizzair seems going well so far.I've booked two return ticket from London to Budapest for £128.Not bad.I'll let yo know when I'm back in two weeks.
I've used Wizzair and everything was fine.I can recommend them.

Wizzair gives away free tickets all the time, i think it would be better for them (maybe not for me as a passenger) that they do things like Airpolonia does...
But they've kept their flight from Bergamo to Krakow, where they are competing head to head with Wizzair (Wizz is flying to Katowice).
In any case, there is no way any airline would be "concerned" about the financial situation of one of their competitors.

WARSAW (AFX) - Low cost airline WizzAir said it will launch new services to London tomorrow from Warsaw and the northern Polish city of Gdansk.
The airline, a Hungarian company based in London, said it also intends to launch flights from Sept 15 to Copenhagen and Malmo in Sweden, from Warsaw, Gdansk and the southern industrial city of Katowice.
Since launching its services in May, WizzAir has already carried about 100,000 passengers from Poland and Hungary to several European cities, including Brussels and Dortmund in Germany.

On my way there and back I stopped in Budapest to visit my lovely wife Lilly who is working hard on her Masters Degree in Medieval Studies at the CEU.
Besides the visit, it also allowed me to be a cheap Dutchman and fly with the even cheaper Wizzair (plug: www.wizzair.com).

Flying Wizzair was a different experience because there were no assigned seats.
At the ticket counter checkin each passenger is given a number, first come first serve, and the plane is boarded according to number.

It seems that Ryanair gets in at night, and Wizzair leaves in the morning.

 Hungary's Wizzair To Start Bulgarian Services
Hungarian airline Wizzair will become Bulgaria's first low-cost operator when it starts flying from Sofia to Budapest this autumn, it said on Thursday.
The UK-registered carrier, which launched operations in Poland and Hungary last spring under a Hungarian license, plans to fly passengers from Bulgaria three times a week for as low as EUR19 (USD$23) without tax one-way as of September 18.
The company, which flies to 17 destinations in Europe, said it has raised EUR34 million (USD$41.2 million) in funding since its start and has a fleet of six Airbus A320s.

Then I renamed the texture folder of WizzAir, and wonder: the aircraft loaded (without the paint) in the FS menu.

Never tried them myself but they are big here in Malmö where they have flights to several Central European cities and they are currently opening another line so they must be doing well...
I dont normally travel with cheap no frills airlines, but I flew with Wizzair about 2 weeks ago to Poland.
I have a Hungarian friend who used them about once a month over a period of about a year - she found them very reliable and very cheap.
