		Wokingham is a small town and civil parish in Berkshire in the south east of England, close to Reading.
		Wokingham is located on the Emm Brook in the Loddon Valley in central Berkshire.

	Wokingham History
		The population of Wokingham in the year 1801 was 2,281 and by the year 1901 the number had risen to 6,002.
		Wokingham's almshouses, built through a bequest of 1665, are said to be the finest buildings in the town, named Lucas Hospital after their benefactor.
		In the Civil War 1643 - 1644 Wokingham town was subject to foraging raids by both the Roundheads and the Cavaliers.

		Wokingham Poor Law Union was formed on 1st August 1835.
