Walk 2.5 miles up the track to a stream, cross this then slog across the peat until a fence, turn right and follow the fence until the crag is reached.
We rely on volunteers to moderate their local crags.

This takes you over Brennand Great Hill until you reach a path junction at GR 626578, where you turn east for 750m until you reach Wolfhole Crag.
Return the 750m to the path junction and continue north west to path junction at GR 617582 where you turn southwesterly into a developing re-entrant to take care when crossing the River Tarnbrook Wyre near waterfall at GR 612576.

 The Bowland Fells
We walked to the second trig point on the W side 1m lower that gives good views seaward, then returned to the point marked Grey Crag on the map where soft grass made a good pitch (notwithstanding the noisy gulls).
White Crag is a rocky outcrop covered in guano, hence the name?.
Moving S and entering the forest at 760585 at a stile, the half-expected battle with the marked paths and tracks began; these are rough directions from memory for our route SW to Stocks reservoir, there may be better ones.

 (GCHJQZ) Wolfhole Crag (Forest of Bowland) by Langden
The more adventurous can turn south-ish at the access point (SD 626 578) and return via Miller’s House, although this route should not be attempted in bad weather or during the seagull nesting season (May/June – you’ll know what it is like to star in Hitchcock’s “The Birds” if you visit then).
Wolfhole Crag is isolated, and you should be kitted-out in proper walking gear including decent walking boots and a change of socks!
Don’t attempt this in bad weather, and it’s probably best not to do it alone (you’ll be unlikely to meet anyone else in the event of a mishap).

One Sept of interest which does not belong to the treaty is the Wolfhole Crag Sept in Lancashire.
Since the lands around their Sept were unsuitable for industry or agriculture, they have succeeded in holding their own without outside help.

Ignore the waymarked right turn that leads to Gilberton farm and stroll on until the now gravelled track winds left and begins to climb up through bracken and then heather and bilberry.
Go on up the well-graded way with the grassy slopes of Wolfhole Crag, which supports a small plantation of Scots pine, to your right.
The bouldery edge of Tarnbrook Fell towers on the left.
