When the Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened in 19 March 1932 a new Milsons Point station (on the bridge approach) came into operation and the North Shore Line was extended through it and over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to link with the underground lines of central Sydney.
A new underground railway line is currently under construction: the Epping to Chatswood Line will connect Chatswood station of the North Shore line to Epping station on the main northern line.
The North Shore Line extends from Sydney Central station through the western limb of the City Circle, across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and along the North Shore area to Hornsby where it joins the Northern Line.

There are lots of great areas around there, but the main problem is their distance from the railway stations and the unavailability of parking.
I used to pride myself on knowing one of the secret spots where no-one turned up until a couple of hours prior to viewing; however, the Sydney Council found out about it and slapped an entry fee on it, and, of course, that alerted half of Sydney to how good it was.

In any case considerable earthworks would be req'd to convert Waverton and Wollstonecraft stations and Bay Road Tunnel to four tracks for limited gain.
The North >Shore has provision for 4 tracks from North Sydney to Chatswood but will the >new St Leonards Station have provision for four platforms if only two should >be built during the current building works?
Not sure how many platforms to be built for St Leonards, but as far as I know, there are no plans to quadruple the section betw Nth Sydney and Chatswood.
