Women's golf has evolved a set of major tournaments which parallels that in men's golf, but the women's system is younger and has been less stable that the men's.

 Jang breaks duck with British Open triumph
Jeong Jang became the fourth South Korean to win a women's major when she scored a wire-to-wire victory in the Women's British Open at Royal Birkdale.
Grace Park, in last year's Kraft Nabisco, and Birdie Kim, in last month's US Women's Open, are the others from her country to land majors.
Jang is the second Korean to win the British Open, following in the footsteps of the 2001 winner Pak Se Ri, who has four majors.

It would turn Farrah into an icon (in tandem with that famed bathing suit poster) and lead to her decision to leave the show after a single season at husband Lee Majors' behest.
