Secretary for Justice Wong Yan-lung said the 14 detainees, 11 of them militant South Korean peasant activists and unionists, would be dealt with according to the law and would get no special treatment.
Wong's words came after a meeting with leading members of South Korea's parliament who arrived in Hong Kong Sunday to press the government to bring the trials to a swift conclusion.
Wong said he had made an exception to normal protocol to meet the lawmakers "out of courtesy" but he had refused to discuss the case.

HONG KONG, May 10(Xinhua)-- Hong Kong Secretary for Justice Wong Yan Lung said here Wednesday that one of the factors that has contributed to Hong Kong's prosperity and success is its policy of zero tolerance towards corruption.
Wong also mentioned about the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, which came into force in the Chinese Mainland in February this year, and is applicable to Hong Kong.
Wong said that the campaign against corruption must be placed at the top of the agendas of societies in the opening years of the 21st century, while co-operation must involve all of those who are stakeholders in civilized society, whether they be investigators, prosecutors, lawmakers, professionals, bankers, businessmen or simply concerned citizens.

Foreign firms have welcomed long-delayed reforms agreed last month by Hong Kong and mainland China to recognise commercial court rulings in both jurisdictions.
The reciprocal agreement, which was struck last month by the Hong Kong secretary of justice, Wong Yan Lung, and the president of the Supreme People’s Court in China, Xiao Yang, commits both jurisdictions to recognise and enforce each other’s commercial rulings.
The agreement, first proposed in 2000, covers commercial disputes in about 100 specified mainland courts and will only apply where both parties have agreed on the jurisdiction.
