Woodbridge Nathan Ferris (January 6, 1853–March 23, 1928) was an educator and statesman from New York.
Ferris also served as a Democrat in the United States Senate (1923-1928) and supported the establishment of a federal Department of Education.
Ferris was born in Spencer, New York and attended the academies of Spencer, Candor, and Oswego, and the Oswego Normal Training School from 1870-1873.

Woodbridge Nathan Ferris was born in Spencer, Tioga County, New York, on January 6, 1853, and died in Washington, D.C. on March 23, 1928 at age 75.
Woodbridge was principal of the Spencer Academy (1874-75), of the Freeport (Illinois) Business College and Academy (1875-76), was principal of the Normal Department of the Rock River University (1876-77), and was co-founder and teacher of the Dixon (Ill.) Business College and Academy (1877-79).
Ferris campaigned for the United States Congress in 1892 and for Governor of Michigan in 1904 and 1920.

I hope she serves the Occoquan Woodbridge Lorton Volunteer Fire Department as well as I know that she can.
Been a few years, 18 to be exact, since I left Woodbridge with one of the retired amublances to start a Rescue Squad in my home town in Kansas.
The ambulance was a great step and although that unit is long gone, it was instrumental in developing the EMS System in that area.
