Built in 1939 and formerly known as Bear Lodge, the building was utilized by the Corps of Engineers as a facility near Woodcock Dam, which the Corps constructed as a flood control project.
Both agencies plan to use the nearby Woodcock Reservoir and the several acres of property that surround the building for educational and training activities.

09/14/06— WOODCOCK TOWNSHIP — For six years, Dave Lennox has paid taxes to Woodcock Township, but he hasn’t seen the results when it comes to maintenance of the road that runs in front of his Woodcock Village house — in fact, none of the residents in the 44-house development have been satisfied.
The roads still don’t meet township code, but at a recent Woodcock Township meeting, supervisors unanimously agreed that the township after all these years will make the Village’s roads their own.
The township will do the work on the roads, and eventually the estimated $30,000 in expenses to bring the roads up to code will come from the Village’s developer, Russ Hudson.
