  Woodlark 1 - The Home of F-Step
Woodlark 1 is also the undeniable birthplace of the phenomenon known as F-step and is at the heart of promoting this unique form of music in the UK and elsewhere.
Woodlark 1 has on its books a small number of artists dedicated to promoting intelligent and innovative music, both F-step and other forms, and has released a number of CDs by these artists over the past year, all of which can be ordered in the shop.
Woodlark 1 has also been responsible for organising, promoting, and supporting a number of events, particularly in and around the Cambridge area, although it hopes to spread its roots further.

But woodlark are steadily recolonising most of their former areas and numbers are increasing again.
During the breeding season, woodlark feed principally on insects, spiders and larvae that they pick off the lower parts of tall vegetation.
Like many ground nesting birds, the woodlark's main predators are mammals such as fox and stoat, and opportunist birds such as crows and magpies.

The woodlark is a relative of the skylark and shares its musicality.
The mellow fluting song of the woodlark is one of the joys of spring in the Sandlings and can be heard on heathland, forestry plantations, and farmland in this area.
In the Sandlings its fortunes were favoured by the storms of 1987 and the increased intensity of management on neglected heathlands which has lead to the clearance of large areas of trees, scrub and bracken and the reintroduction of grazing to many heathland sites.

Seismic refraction studies in the Basin-and-Range show that the Moho there beneath core complexes is flat, requiring either extensive underplating or lower-crustal flow, properties often inferred as necessary features of core complexes.
However, results from a new seismic experiment in the Woodlark Rift show that a flat Moho is not universal, and that in some cases their unroofing can be accompanied by comparable elevation of the Moho.

A change in geologic environment from continental rifting to seafloor spreading within a small region makes the western Woodlark Basin an attractive area to investigate lithospheric extension and its effects on the geochemistry of sediments and interstitial water (IW).
Three holes drilled in the northern margin of the Woodlark Basin during OPD Leg 180 allowed characterization of the composition and in situ properties of a down-flexed prerift sedimentary basin and basement sequence unconformably onlapped by synrift sediments.
Our data reflect how the evolution of the Woodlark basin affected sedimentation at the three sites, and how the input of volcanic matter influenced diagenesis.

 ADW: Phalanger lullulae: Information
Phalanger lullulae (Woodlark Island Cuscus) is only found on Woodlark Island, which is part of the Milne Bay Province of Papua New Guinea, and on the neighboring island of Alcester, which is 70 kilometres south of Woodlark (Norris, 1999).
For this reason, it is more plentiful on the eastern side of Woodlark Island, where this is the predominant type of vegetation, than in the dense jungle of the western side (Flannery, 1995).
Phalanger lullulae is the largest species of terrestrial mammal (with the exception of humans) on Woodlark Island, so it may have no predators in the wild (Norris, 1999).
